Cycle Touring Best Practices Mission 2007

This mission visited The Route Verte in Montreal, Quebec, October 9 - 13, 2007.

Quebec, specifically the Route Verte and the Montreal area, were ideal areas to visit, as they were excellent examples of destinations that promote a cycling experience, whereby the individual communities and the province have collectively made cycling tours welcome and the destination accessible to cyclists. The group learned about marketing and community partnerships with local trails, how local tourism operators were engaged in the trails, and the creation of bike associations.  

The group indicated that they had learned a great deal from the experience and are going to implement their findings to their respective regions.
